Swanmore Youth Group is a friendly local youth group for year six to year eleven children. We aim to provide a safe place where the young people can meet and get involved with different activities for two hours every week. We hold a range of activities from craft sessions, to individual speakers to sports games. Entry is only £1.
Swanmore Youth Group is held in Swanmore Village Hall and currently runs on a Thursday evening from 6.30-8pm.
We have a calendar of events that we book for each evening. Sometimes we have speakers come in and talk to the Young People (YP). Examples that we have had in the past are a reptile expert, an RSPCA representative and a teacher to talk about PSHE (personal, social and health education) among others. We also hold sports tournaments, crab football and dodgeball seem to be the most popular. The Young People are actively encouraged to get involved in new things while at youth group as well, one of these things has recently been Yu-Gi-Oh. We have a growing number of YP who come every week to play with their Yu-Gi-Oh cards and the space in the hall provides a more social aspect to the game, they can interact with each other and teach new members (and staff!) how it works.
We also run trips a few times a year. Bowling, InTech, Laser Quest, Go Karting to name a few!
Please have a look around the site for more information and if you have any questions then feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. (as we only volunteer one evening a week please be patient when waiting for a reply!)
